British Values

At Roe Farm Primary School, we are committed to embedding Fundamental British Values throughout our ethos and curriculum.  Our pupils tell us that they want their school to be friendly, fair, interesting, safe, polite, caring and hardworking and these aspirations underpin everything we do.

Our core school values are Respect, Optimism, Enthusiasm, Friendliness, Achievement, Resilience and Motivation. These, alongside the Fundamental British Values of Democracy, the Rule of Law, Individual Liberty, Mutual Respect and Tolerance, are woven through our Relationships, Health and Sex Education curriculum and are reflected across wider school life, including:

  • Assemblies
  • Celebrations of different faiths and cultures
  • Whole-school theme weeks
  • School Council activities
  • Positive behaviour systems
  • Pastoral guidance and support
  • Charity and community work
  • Understanding the importance of rules and laws
  • Educational visits and school trips
  • Enterprise opportunities

We hold high aspirations for every child.  We believe that primary education is far more than results, data or preparation for secondary school; it is a formative stage that shapes children’s futures.  At Roe Farm Primary, we nurture skills, knowledge and attitudes that empower pupils to be active, confident learners.  Our aim is for every child to enjoy a positive, enriching and memorable educational journey during their time with us.
