School Uniform
At Roe Farm Primary School, we believe that wearing a school uniform is an important part of creating a positive learning environment. Our uniform promotes:
- A sense of pride and belonging
- Fewer distractions throughout the school day
- Equality among pupils
- Greater cost‑effectiveness compared with alternative clothing
- A smart appearance that supports readiness to learn
Wearing a uniform also prepares pupils for the expectations of the wider world, where many workplaces require specific clothing, whether smart dress, protective equipment, or a team kit. Establishing these habits early helps to build responsibility and high standards.
We aim to keep our uniform simple, practical, and affordable. Jumpers and cardigans in red or royal blue are available with the school logo from the school office, and similar items can be easily purchased from local shops and supermarkets.
Footwear:
Pupils should wear smart, black shoes. Trainers, canvas shoes, and pump‑style footwear are not part of our uniform. Pupils may change into PE trainers during break and lunchtime to help preserve their school shoes.
Jewellery and Accessories:
For health and safety reasons, jewellery should not be worn in school. Pupils may wear a wristwatch and one pair of small stud earrings; however, earrings must be removed by the pupil for PE lessons.
Appearance:
Patterned haircuts, decorated nails, and makeup are not part of our uniform expectations. Please keep these for school holidays and ensure pupils return adhering to our uniform policy.
We appreciate your continued support in helping pupils present themselves smartly every day. A consistent approach at home and school has a positive impact on pupils’ attitude to learning, behaviour, and sense of belonging.
