Upper Key Stage 2 is an exciting and important stage in our pupils’ journey as they continue to develop their confidence, independence and resilience while preparing for the next steps in their education. Across our four mixed Year 5 and Year 6 classes, we provide a rich and engaging curriculum that encourages pupils to be curious, ambitious and enthusiastic learners.

During the mornings, pupils are taught in single year groups for the core subjects of English and mathematics, allowing teaching and learning to be carefully focused on the expectations and needs of each year group. Throughout the wider curriculum, pupils learn within their mixed Year 5/6 classes, enjoying a broad range of creative, practical and challenging experiences.

Life in Upper Key Stage 2 extends far beyond the classroom. Throughout the year, pupils have many opportunities to develop new skills, build confidence and represent our school. These include swimming, cycle proficiency and taking part in a wide variety of sporting events, festivals and competitions. We encourage every pupil to embrace these opportunities, work together and demonstrate our school values.
